Museo Pietro Canonica a Villa Borghese

More than 300 painted eggs are on display, icons on glass and various objects of Romanian tradition.

For the second year in a row, Catholics and Orthodox will celebrate Easter together. For this special occasion, the Department of Cultural Affairs of Roma Capitale - Superintendent of Cultural Heritage promotes "Pasqua insieme" an exhibit dedicated to the tradition of Easter eggs in Romania. The event is presented by the Accademia di Romania in Rome and the Museum of the Romanian Peasant in Bucharest.
The painted eggs and the traditional art objects on display come from Bukovina (north-east), Buzau, Vrancea, Bran, and Argeş Vâlcea (Central-south) and Banat (south-west).
A documentary film will illustrate the complex preparation techniques of these little masterpieces.
