Attilio Selva - Gessi e disegni

On display, for the first time in Rome, a selection of works, drawings and archival materials coming from the sculptor’s studio in Trieste, lent by the family of Attilio Selva.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Assessorato alle Politiche Culturali e della Comunicazione del Comune di Roma - Sovraintendenza ai Beni Culturali (Department of Cultural Policy and Communication of the City of Rome - Superintendence of Cultural Heritage) and is curated by Giovanna Caterina de Feo, from an idea of the Associazione Amici di Villa Strohl-fern, a place where, between 1910 and 1920, Selva set up his studio.
The exhibition covers different aspects of Selva’s work: from the freshness and immediacy of his drawings to the sculptures and some smaller sketches. In order to offer a complete, though not large, exhibition on the sculptor, it is worth to mention the portraits, in which he was considered an undisputed master by the critics of his time.
