Masterpieces of the hall

The hall

Sala VI

The room is mostly occupied by works inspired by sacred themes. Along the walls are the stations of the Way of the Cross (1958), the sculptures depicting Christ at the Column, St. Peter, St. Paul of Tarsus and a Crucified Christ, the model for the bronze statue made by Pietro Canonica for the Palazzo delle Congregazioni Orientali in Rome. Another work inspired by the passion is a marble statue depicting a scourged Christ , replicated by the artist for his collection in 1920, from an original of 1898.
